A web beacon is a small, clear and invisible picture file that websites or emails use to track how users interact with and move through a website, multiple websites or with marketing emails. Web beacons often work in conjunction with cookies to identify unique users as they move around online to show the site owner what emails have been accessed, when a site was accessed and how much time was spent on the site.
